June 2021 Beauty Favorites: Top Products Worth Trying

Hi everyone — I hope you’re having a good week. I can’t believe it’s July already, which means it’s time to share my June 2021 beauty favourites. I’m writing more beauty content than usual at the moment because I’ve been struggling with a partially dislocated wrist. It’s been swollen and painful after a recent injury, so baking and some of my usual hands-on projects have been off the table. I can manage one-handed photos and basic editing, and typing is doable with a bit of discomfort, so beauty posts are a practical way for me to keep creating.

Despite the frustration, I’ve still found a handful of products that stood out in June. There’s a new foundation I love and I’m as obsessed with blush as ever — so let’s jump in.

ESTÉE LAUDER FUTURIST AQUA BRILLIANCE WATERY GLOW PRIMER – £30.50

I’ve mentioned this primer before, and I’m firmly back on the hype train. I test lots of primers, and while others are excellent, this Estee Lauder formula has been my go-to when my skin feels dull or a bit flaky. It’s lightweight, hydrating and creates a flawless base for makeup.

It pairs well with nearly every foundation in my collection. The texture refreshes the skin, never pills, and avoids a sticky or tacky finish. It absorbs quickly, leaves a soft glow and helps foundation apply smoothly and last throughout the day. I’m more than halfway through my tube and will definitely repurchase.

L’ORÉAL PARIS AGE PERFECT RADIANT SERUM FOUNDATION – Around £8–10

This foundation isn’t widely available in the UK, but it does pop up occasionally on seller sites. It’s part of L’Oreal’s Age Perfect range, though you don’t need to be a particular age to enjoy it. The finish is natural matte with hydrating properties. Coverage is buildable — you can sheer it out or reach fuller coverage — and it wears well for long hours without clinging to dry patches or emphasising texture.

For a drugstore option, the shade range is decent and the formula performs similarly to some higher-end foundations I own. It offers good longevity and a comfortable, flattering finish.

LISA ELDRIDGE ENLIVENING BLUSH IN PINK SOAP – £24

I reviewed Lisa Eldridge’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection recently and this blush remains a favourite. It’s effortless to wear, lasts all day and looks beautiful on the skin without emphasising texture. Despite being a tube cream formula, it’s easy to blend and very buildable — you can use fingers or a brush for a natural, just-woke-up glow.

A little goes a long way, so the product will last a long time. I’m excited for restocks so I can try more shades.

PAT MCGRATH DIVINE BLUSH IN NUDE VENUS – £35

I picked up several shades from Pat McGrath’s Divine Blush collection and Nude Venus has quickly become my favourite. It’s a soft peachy-pink that breathes life into the cheeks. The powder formula is silky, blendable and extremely long-wearing — probably the longest-lasting powder blush I own.

The finish is luminous and flattering across shades; even deeper tones can be sheered out beautifully on fair skin. There are nine shades in the range and I’m tempted to collect more because the formula is just that good.

HONEST BEAUTY CRÈME CHEEK BLUSH IN ROSE PINK – £16

This is my first Honest Beauty product and I’m impressed. The texture is balmy — almost like a tinted lip balm — but it sets down to a dewy, natural finish without being tacky. It doesn’t stick hair to the face, and the wear is solid. The formula reminded me of Milani’s Cheek Kiss line in consistency and performance.

I apply this with a stippling motion using a dense brush rather than buffing, which prevents lifting the foundation and gives a seamless blend. I loved the shade so much I ordered another.

LISA ELDRIDGE LUXURIOUSLY LUCENT LIPSTICK IN KITTEN MISCHIEF – £26

This is my first Lisa Eldridge lipstick and I love the formula. It’s versatile — you can achieve a sheer wash of colour or build to full opacity in a few swipes. The shade I wore the most in June is a pinky-brown that’s perfect for everyday wear. The packaging feels luxe and well-made, which is a nice bonus.

I gravitate toward nudey pink and brown shades for quick, wearable makeup looks, so this formula fits seamlessly into my daily routine.

And that’s a wrap on my June 2021 beauty favourites. A mix of newly discovered gems and products I’ve fallen back in love with. I’ve got a few more arrivals to test in July, so expect more reviews and thoughts soon.
