Homemade Mango Popsicles
Mango season is one of my favorites. Ripe mangoes bring intense tropical sweetness, and turning them into popsicles is an easy way to enjoy that flavor chilled. These mango popsicles are quick to prepare, easy to customize for dietary needs, and ideal for hot days when you want something light and fruity.
The recipe highlights pure mango flavor with just a splash of citrus and a touch of sweetener to keep the texture smooth. They freeze well and are a wholesome alternative to store-bought popsicles that often contain added colors and refined sugar.

How do you make popsicles creamy not icy?
To prevent popsicles from freezing too hard, include enough sweetener to slightly lower the freezing point and keep the texture tender. Liquid sweeteners that resist crystallization—such as maple syrup, agave, or corn syrup—work especially well. In this recipe I use maple syrup for a vegan, refined-sugar-free option; honey works too if you don’t need the recipe to be vegan.

Ingredients and Nutrition
These mango popsicles are naturally vegan, gluten-free, and made without refined sugars when you choose maple syrup or another unrefined sweetener. Mangoes add vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, making these pops a tasty, better-for-you frozen snack.
- Mango chunks – about 6 cups (fresh or thawed frozen mango). If using frozen mango, thaw and drain any excess liquid before blending.
- Lime juice – fresh lime juice brightens the mango flavor; lemon juice is a fine substitute.
- Maple syrup – adds sweetness and helps keep the popsicles scoopable. Substitute honey or another sweetener if preferred.
- Water – a small amount to loosen the purée for smooth blending.
Equipment
All you need are ice pop molds with sticks and a blender or food processor to purée the mango. If you don’t have molds, small paper cups, silicone muffin cups, or an ice cube tray with small sticks will work in a pinch.
What is the easiest way to remove popsicles from molds?
Remove the mold tray from the freezer and run the outside of each mold under warm water for a few seconds; this loosens the edges and releases the popsicle easily.
How do you make fruit popsicles without mold?
Use small disposable cups, silicone muffin liners, or an ice cube tray. Insert sticks when the mixture is partially frozen (after about 1–2 hours) so they stand upright while finishing in the freezer.

Mango Popsicles Tips and F.A.Q.
Homemade fruit pops made from whole fruit and minimal added sweetener are generally healthier than many commercial options. These mango popsicles contain real fruit and no artificial colors or refined sugars when you use maple syrup.
Yes—thaw frozen mango chunks and drain any extra liquid before puréeing. They work just as well as fresh mango.
Freeze popsicles for at least 6 hours, though overnight freezing gives the best, fully solid texture.

- Cover with lids (or use foil) and insert wooden sticks if your molds require them.
- Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until fully set.
- To unmold, let the pops sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes or briefly run the mold under warm water to release them.
