Aunt Lou here.

Ribs are a favorite in our house, but we usually wait for a good sale. When we do make them, we want an easy method that yields rich flavor and fall-off-the-bone texture. This crock pot version delivers every time.

Crock Pot Barbecue Ribs

On the day I made these, I wasn’t feeling my best and appreciated how quickly they came together. The prep takes less than five minutes, and the slow cooker does the rest. When I sat down, Michael was already enjoying dinner and declared them amazing—proof that simple meals can be the best.

Slow Cooker Recommendation

A long, shallow slow cooker — like a 9×13 casserole-style Crock-Pot — works well for racks of ribs because it lays them out more evenly. If you don’t have that style, a 5–6 quart slow cooker will usually hold a full rack or two when stacked.
