Did you have a teddy bear as a child? I did. I had several, but one was extra special — an orangish-brown bear whose little red tongue was once replaced with a safety pin. As a child I formed close attachments to my dolls and stuffed animals. They provided years of play and comfort, and I treated them as if they had feelings. To avoid favorites, I rotated which soft toy I held each night. I also loved watching the Snuggle® fabric softener commercials that briefly brought a teddy bear to life. So I was excited to learn about the Snuggle SeptemBEAR and the #ShareABear movement.
#ShareABear
Everyone deserves the comfort of a soft teddy bear. Snuggle’s #ShareABear campaign encourages people to brighten lives by giving a teddy bear to someone who could use a little extra care. Through this initiative, Snuggle Bear is donating bears to children and families who need them the most, showing how a small gift can make a big difference.
I recently gave my three-year-old son, Wesley, his own Snuggle Bear and captured the moment for the #ShareABear movement. It was a joy to watch his genuine reaction: he hugged his new bear instantly and never wanted to let go.
Wesley has carried his new friend everywhere these past few weeks. When he stayed at his grandparents’ house last weekend, he insisted on bringing the bear along, saying, “We can’t forget my Snuggle Bear!”
We received three bears in total, and two will be donated during our school’s holiday toy drive. My boys are already excited about giving Snuggle Bears to children who are less fortunate.
